County Administrator

Brandon S. Butler, Esq., by unanimous vote, was selected by the Board of County Commissioners of Allegany County to become County Administrator effective March 1, 2018.

Butler came to Allegany County Government from the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) in Baltimore. He held the leadership position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning.

He focused on managing the day-to-day operations of the State’s workforce system, a $100 million enterprise with approximately 450 staff members.

Butler shares his experience and expertise in workforce systems with other states and is a frequent panelist and speaker at national conferences.

Born and raised in Western Maryland, Butler served the people of Allegany County by working in the Maryland General Assembly for seven years as legislative aide to Delegate Wendell R. Beitzel and chief of staff to the entire District 1 Delegation.
