Launched in 2024, the Positive People Awards shine a light on those in Allegany County who go above and beyond—quietly, consistently, and without seeking recognition. These are the volunteers, nonprofit leaders, and everyday champions who make our community stronger through their acts of service and kindness.
Each March, community members are invited to submit nominations through a public form. Honorees are then celebrated at an annual luncheon hosted by Allegany County Government.
The Positive People Awards aims to recognize the unsung heroes in our community, who dedicate themselves to service outside of their profession with no expectation of recognition.

Application deadline: March 22ndApplications will be reviewed in late March, with a luncheon tentatively planned for the end of April to honor award recipients. Nominating individuals will be contacted via email before their nominee is notified.
