NOTICE OF ACTION: Per E. L. Articles 2-303 and 2-303.1, the Allegany County Board of Elections will be discussing the 2026 Gubernatorial Election Plan at its meetings scheduled on the following dates: July 1, 2025, August 5, 2025, September 2, 2025, and October 7, 2025 at 9:00am. Topics to be discussed include Ballot Drop Box locations, Early Voting Center location, and Election Day Polling Place locations. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Allegany County Complex, 701 Kelly Rd., Rm. 230, Cumberland, MD. Dates are subject to change. Notice will be posted on the website.

1State law requires that election officials manually audit a sample of voted ballots. This audit must be performed after each general election.
The Allegany County Board of Elections will conduct the manual ballot audit of the 2024 General Election starting on February 11, 2025 at 10:30am. This audit may take one day and will take place at the Allegany County Board of Elections, located at 701 Kelly Road, Room 100, Cumberland, MD 21502. The audit is open to the public.
The Allegany County Board of Elections will manually tally a sample of votes cast for U.S. Senator and compare the results of the manual tally against the results from the voting system. This process will determine whether the voting system accurately counted ballots during the 2024 General Election2.
The State Board of Elections randomly selected the early voting center and election day precincts to be audited, and the Allegany County Board of Elections randomly selected the mail in and provisional ballots to be audited. Starting on February 11, 2025, the Allegany County Board of Elections will manually tally the votes for U.S. Senator on:
