Mission Statement

The Allegany County Finance Department staff adheres to legal, moral and professional standards of conduct.  We are dedicated to professional integrity and development and strive to have the highest quality of performance.  The department staff has established and is committed to maintain the respect, trust and confidence of the public. Tax Office Function

Bill and collect real estate, personal property, corporation and public utility accounts for Allegany County, State of Maryland, three municipalities and 30 special taxing areas.

Will be billed to  in the County beginning in October.  The state requires the County to collect $30/year from households with Septic Tank and/or Wells. This fee is mandated by the State.
