WHAT’S WHAT

• Corrugated cardboard is two heavy layers of cardboard with a ribbed middle section/waffle layer: pizza boxes, cardboard shipping cases, etc.

• Paperboard is flat: cereal boxes, 6 pack beverage cartons, etc.Waxy finish paperboard is not accepted.

WHERE & WHEN

• Cumberland: Penn-Mar Recycling Center, 201 Riverside Avenue (behind Allegany County Office Complex, 701 Kelly Road), 7 days a week, dawn to dusk; cardboard/paperboard is collected in the section of the recycling center accessible 24/7 – protected from the weather by the roof - see the sign on  the front of the recycling center

• Frostburg: Mountainview Landfill, MD Route 36, 13300 New Georges Creek Road SW, red portable trailer, Mon – Fri, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sat, 7:00 am – 2:00 pm

• LaVale: LaVale Plaza Shopping Center, 1313 National Highway, red portable trailer, 7 days a week, dawn to dusk

PREPARATION TO RECYCLE CARDBOARD & PAPERBOARD

• Please, do not co-mingle recyclable materials in any recycling bins!

• Please, do not deposit any paper bags or any plastic bags in any recycling bins!

• Cardboard/paperboard must be flat, dry, and clean/no food residue.

• Labels, staples, and tape are acceptable on cardboard/paperboard.

• Remove all packing materials from cardboard/paperboard boxes – no bubble wrap, no plastic wrap, no styrofoam, no styrofoam peanuts, no wax paper, etc.
