ANNOUNCEMENT OF CANVASSING OF THE 2008 PRIMARY ELECTION VOTE

The Allegany County, Maryland, Board of Elections announces that at 10 AM on Thursday, February 14, 2008, the Board of Canvassers for the County will begin the process of opening, reviewing, and counting the absentee ballots cast in the February 12, 2008 Primary Election.

On Tuesday, February 19, 2008, beginning at 10 AM the Board of Canvassers will begin the process of opening, reviewing, and counting the provisional ballots cast in the 2008 Primary Election.

If continuations are necessary, the Board of Canvassers will announce its schedule at the end of each day, and if necessary, at the end of each subsequent day.

At 10 AM on Friday, February 22, 2008, the final tabulation will be conducted and the Allegany County 2008 Presidential Primary Election will be officially certified by the local Board of Canvassers.

All phases of the above mentioned procedures are open to public observation and will be conducted at the County Office Complex, 701 Kelly Road, Suite 212, Cumberland, Maryland.
