Biographical Information
James J. Stakem
Mr.
Stakem received a B.S. in l963 and an M.Ed. in l967 from Frostburg State
College (now Frostburg University).
He is a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the
Moose Lodge, the Eagles, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks.
He has held coaching positions for basketball and various other
sports teams in the County.
As
a Commissioner, Mr. Stakem serves on the Human Resources Development
Commission, the Maryland Association of Counties Legislative Committee,
the MACo Education Subcommittee, Tri-County Council, the Substance Abuse
Task Force, the Western Maryland Economic Development Strategies Task
Force, the Governor's Flood Mitigation Task Force, the Rocky Gap Foundation, the Cumberland Summer Theater Committee,
and Seniors and Law Enforcement Together. Mr.
Stakem and his wife Joann live in Frostburg.
They have three grown children and six grandchildren.

Robert M. Hutcheson
Robert M. Hutcheson was appointed Allegany County Commissioner by Governor Glendenning in October 2000 to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Walter Bosley (who died in office that August. He was then elected to the office in the 2002 General Election. Mr. Hutcheson is a retired educator, having spent 36 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. He graduated from Allegany High School in l950, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State in l954. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army and spent 19 months as part of the Occupation Forces in Germany. He received an honorable discharge in l956. In l962 he was awarded his Master of Education degree. Bob Hutcheson returned to his high school alma mater in September l956 and taught science and mathematics. In l962 he was appointed vice principal at Allegany High School and served in that capacity until the spring of l965 when he was named principal of the new Braddock Junior High School (now a middle school). In the fall of l966, he returned as principal of Allegany High and served the next nineteen years in that position. From l985 until l987 he did motivational speaking and was vice president of a fund raising company. In the fall of l987 he re-entered the field of education and was principal of Keyser High School in Mineral County, West Virginia, until his retirement in l994. Mr. Hutcheson is a member of Ft. Cumberland Lodge No. 211 A.F. & A.M., Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Cumberland Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ali Ghan Shrine, Ft. Cumberland Post #13 American Legion, Associate Member Fraternal Order of Police #40, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Unit of Shriners Hospitals for Children. He is Past President of the Cumberland Jaycees, Past President of the Cumberland Rotary Club, Past Chairman of the LaVale Civic Improvement Association, Past Potentate of Ali Ghan Shrine and Past President of Maryland Association of Secondary Principals. As County Commissioner, he serves as a member of the Western Maryland Health System Board of Trustees, Potomac Highlands Airport Authority, MACo Legislative Committee, the Rural Maryland Council, Tri-County Council for Western Maryland, and ex-officio member on the Board of Social Services. In addition, he served on the Steele Commission which studied the education system of the State of Maryland, and chaired the study commission of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Mr. Hutcheson and his wife live in Cumberland. They have four adult children and eight grandchildren.

Steven Vincent Roque-born 4/5/67-Currently resides in Reston, VA with his wife, Leanne, who is an attorney with the United States National Science Foundation.
