This page is being provided as a means to
familiarize you with the operations of the 911 Center and basic information about
emergency services in Allegany County, Maryland. For those of you who are
unfamiliar, Allegany County is located in Western Maryland. It is the 2nd most westerly
county and is bordered on the south by West Virginia, and on the north by Pennsylvania. We
service a population of about 75,000 county residents and our service area extends into
our nearby bordering states.
The Allegany County Emergency Management Office has the
mission of coordinating the response of resources to an emergency. Day to day this occurs
through the 911 operations. For larger scale events, this occurs through the emergency
management services.
